Beaujolais Nouveau

“Beaujolais Nouveau” or “Beaujolais Primeur” is a wine of primeur produced in the Beaujolais vineyards, within the appellations of origin controlled Beaujolais and Beaujolais-villages.

The wine is essentially the Gamay grape variety.

On September 8, 1851, a decree in the Official Journal indicates that the wines of appellation of origin can not be sold from December 15.

November 13, 1951 specify the conditions of sale of your contracts. This note was created with the name “Beaujolais Nouveau”. For 15 years, the date has been changed, and this is only done from 1967, but it was set to November 15 until 1985, when it was made on the third Thursday of November .

This is due to two reasons: the first for the reasons of timing, it fell too close to the holiday of November 11 (anniversary of the Armistice of 1918), the second for practical reasons, there was only weekend.

Come stay at the Hotel Victor Hugo Paris Kleber, where we will have the pleasure of making you taste the Beaujolais Nouveau 2020 at our Bar “Les Contemplations”.
