Christian Louboutin : l’exhibition[niste]
Conceived as an invitation to dive into the teeming universe of Christian Louboutin, the exhibition explores all the facets of an inspiration with multiple references, in a place that is dear to the creator and which saw the birth of his vocation.
Born in Paris in the 12th arrondissement, Christian Louboutin was fascinated as a teenager by the architectural beauty and the ornamental richness of the Palais de la Porte Dorée, which very early nourished his love for art and applied arts.
It is there, in this masterpiece of Art Deco, that the young Christian Louboutin is seized by a sign prohibiting the wearing of stilettos, which subsequently inspired the iconic Pigalle shoe and will be reinvented over time seasons.
The exhibition reveals the inspirations and the creative process of Christian Louboutin, the exhibition stages the creator’s vision through some of the most precious works from his personal collection as well as loans from public collections.
