Toulouse-Lautrec at the Grand Palais

Until January 27, 2020, Toulouse-Lautrec is the star of the Grand Palais.

The last major Toulouse-Lautrec retrospective in France took place twenty-seven years ago.

The opportunity to discover in more than 200 works, the uniqueness of an artist famous for his paintings of cabarets, brothels and Montmartre.

If the artist has wonderfully represented the electricity of the Parisian night and its pleasures, it aims to translate the reality of contemporary society in all its aspects, up to the least suitable.

The exhibition finally shows how this aristocrat from Languedoc, anxious to succeed, imposed his lucid, serious and funny look on Paris in the 1890s and why he inscribed himself as a precursor of avant-garde movements of the 20th century, as futurism.

With 32 paintings, the Toulouse-Lautrec Museum in Albi is the biggest contributor to the exhibition, which brings together works from around the world.

Stay at the Victor Hugo Paris Kléber hotel located less than 30 minutes on foot from the Grand Palais to discover this exhibition and our beautiful City of Lights.
