Until May 22nd , the Musée du Louvre presents an exhibition devoted to the leader of this art, Johannes Vermeer, and highlights his greatest masterpieces and many canvases by his contemporaries in order to make Account of this artistic emulation which has enabled him to achieve excellence.
Johannes Vermeer and his Dutch contemporaries Gérard Dou, Gerard ter Borch, Jan Steen, Pieter de Hooch and Frans van Mieris loved to represent the refined scenes of everyday life. Through their interaction but also a form of competition that they maintained among themselves, these artists have sublimated a typical pictorial typology of the 17th century.
For his birthday, the Georges-Pompidou Center invites you free of charge and without reservation, all the public from 7 to 77 years to dive in a large bath of Contemporary Art. Saturday 04 February until late in the evening, and Sunday 05 February all day, Enjoy many animations specially imagined for the occasion.
